Some come for healing, either the healing of the heart or the healing of the body. Some come because they are in life transition and need to listen deeply to what is the next thing that is asked of them or how to deal with some great change.  All come to be closer to God.  The ​​Joseph and Mary Retreat House, a ministry supported by the generosity of the people of the Archdiocese of Chicago and its other benefactors, invites you to come away to pray.  This invitation to pray is extended to you as you pass through our front door.  Overhead is the inscription "Venite seorsum.” Come away by yourselves--come away to pray (Mark 6:31). This preserve of nature, comprising approximately 900 acres of forest and water, is the ideal setting for beholding the glory of God. Come away to a quiet place to pray. Venite seorsum.

The Joseph and Mary Retreat House is a place for Priests, Bishops, Deacons, men and women religious and all the Christian faithful to reflect, pray and rest. We provide the hospitality to assure your comfort and provide the quiet and peace necessary to hear God’s call.
