Our Team
Director of the Retreat House since July 2022, Fr. Kevin Feeney was ordained for the archdiocese of Chicago in 1977. He was associate pastor at Epiphany Parish (1977-1983), and pastor at St. Sylvester Parish (1991-2000), both in Chicago. At Mundelein Seminary, he served as Director of Spiritual Life (1983-1991), and then as Dean of Formation (2000-2013). Before coming to the retreat house, he was Director Chaplain at the Sheil Catholic Center at Northwestern University (2013-2021). Fr. Feeney is committed to the mission of JMRH and sees the value of providing a place for prayer, quiet, rest, and renewal to all who seek it. He looks forward to being of service, in collaboration with the retreat house staff, to all who come to this beautiful place.
Msgr. John F. Canary is a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago. He has dedicated much of his priestly ministry to the formation of seminarians and the support of priests. He retired as the Vicar General of the Archdiocese and moved to the Retreat House. He is available for spiritual direction, retreats and the celebration of the sacraments.
Jen Cummings manages our office and is extremely friendly, organized, and efficient. All reservations and inquiries may be directed to her.
The Housekeeping Staff of Gladys Naval and Erika Conejo take on the responsibility of cleaning the rooms, floors and laundry. It is their dedication and hard work that keep the house clean. They are always ready to assist our guests with any needs.
Pedro is with the Valley Lodge Tavern Company. Valley Lodge Tavern has 5 restaurants in the Chicago area that serves great quality food at moderate prices. We are pleased to have them with us and the reviews about their food have been excellent. Pedro is always ready and willing to accommodate special requests such as vegetarian, gluten free and ethnic foods. He simply requires a week notice.
